Easily reach Ylläs by car, train or plane.

With private car

Coming from the south, you can take the E8 road along the border through Kemi and Tornio to Kolari. In Kolari, turn onto road no. 939 in the direction of Ylläsjärvi.

If you drive through Rovaniemi, drive on road no. 79 to Kittilä. After the center of Kittilä, turn left onto road no. 939 Ylläsjärvi.

You can also consider VR’s car train packages. Take the train in one direction and drive another.

By Train

Travel by night train to Kolari railway station, from where it is only about 35 km to Ylläs. If you arrive without a car, there is a bus connection from the train station to Lake Ylläsjärvi after the train arrives. See more detailed train contact information on Rundgren Ky’s website. If you come by car train, you can also come to Rovaniemi and drive to Ylläs. There is no bus connection from Rovaniemi to Ylläs.

By plane

Kittilä Airport is about 35 km from the cottage, and there is a bus connection to Ylläsjärvi from the airport. The Airport Express is a convenient way to get from the airport to the cottage. You can also rent a car from the airport if you wish.

You can also comfortably get to Ylläs by bus, both near and far. On the Matkahuolto website, you can browse timetables and buy tickets for your trip.

Can you manage a holiday at the cottage without a car? The cottage is so centrally located that you can do well on holiday without your own or rental car. lluminated ski trails run right next to the cottage, so you can go on ski trips or ski trips.

You can reach the ski lifts by SkiBus from a nearby bus stop, or a taxi ride of about 2.5 km to the shop or to the ski lifts costs about € 12. You can even head to the store in one direction and come back to the cottage by taxi with heavy shopping. Use your backpack to easily pick up small refill groceries while skiing or walking – all along there is a good walkway to both the shop and the slopes.

The grocery stores operating in Ylläs at Jounin Kauppa in Äkäslompolo and Eelin Kauppa in Ylläsjärvi deliver products to customers picked up at the pick-up point and also delivered home. Regretfully the webshop is in Finnish or Swedish language only.

The Chalet has an electronic Yale Doorman lock with a pin code. The PIN will be sent via text message to the telephone number provided at the time of booking, no later than the day before the start of your holiday.
